Welcome to the official Tousley Sisters' blog!

Hello Tousley Sisters and related loved ones! Let me be the first to welcome you to the official Tousley sisters' blog: "The Seven Sisters"!

Well, my lovely Aunts, after seeing all the wonderful words and insights and encouragements from the Bible reading notes, I decided to see if this was something you might be interested in .

Yes, this is a "blog." It's short for "web log," or in simple words, an online journal.

IT'S NOT HARD. If you've gotten here and you're reading this now, then you yourself have the skills to be a bonified "Blogger."
****

Here are 15 reasons why I think this format would work better for all your sharing of Bible study insights and many other notes and communication:

1. It's easier than email to organize and access. If you want to see what people were writing about a particular Bible passage in the month of January, 2008, there's a easy link right to all those messages. (But just try to go back and find a certain message in the many, many emails with different names...well, good luck.)

2. It's easier to see the different Bible insights all right next to each other, in a more functional way (just scroll up and down).

3. Everything will be archived here, in one central location, indefinitely.

4. This Blog site is good, reliable, versatile, and Free!

5. You can add other elements as well: Pictures, videos, links to other websites, etc. For example, if Paulette had 3 really cool pictures from their trip to Asheville, NC, she could post them here, in a Pictures section. Easy to find, easy to access, doesn't go away.

6. There can be numerous "bloggers" so all the seven sisters can write, for sure, but also as many nieces, nephews, spouses, and troublemakers as you want.

7. Each blogger has their own 'tag' name, so you can easily see who wrote each note.

8. Computers wouldn't crash from so many piled up emails.

9. WAY less messy than a bunch of emails strung together from everyone and their brother (a joke, no brothers here).

10. Those of us who aren't as active in the email circles could stop by at our leisure and read what's going on in the minds of the Tousley clan, at our own risk of course.

11. You can also use this blog to organize events. For example, if you were talking about the dates and locations for the Summer Gathering, you could have a whole separate section for that discussion. Different discussions are called "threads." That would be the "Tousley Gathering 2009" thread. There can be as many threads as you want. A "Taz Talk" thread and a "Prayer Request" thread could go on indefinitely.

12. It's easier than you think to be a blogger. IF YOU CAN CHECK EMAIL, YOU CAN BLOG. ("Blog" is a noun and a verb. e.g., "I blogged for an hour yesterday on my blog.")

13. Certainly, no one would ever think to accuse the Tousley's of being behind the times, but this would automatically lock in your spot as "cool" and "with-it" Aunts. You'd be surprised how many folks might perk up if they hear you're a blogger. And...your kids will think you're cool.

14. I'm happy to help for technical support.

15. You can keep this blog for years, and Lord willing, you'll be able to look back at 5 or 10 or 20 years of letters to each other, like a huge online scrapbook of memories of life together trusting in God through thick and thin.
So yes, God can be glorified through your blogging!

Enjoy your new blog!
Your nephew/son/tech support guy,
-Benjamin
